Shining Bright: Unforgettable Charity Ball Fundraiser for the Motor Neurone Disease Association

In a world where unity and compassion shine, every step forward makes a significant impact. At WDS, we are immensely proud to share the heart-warming success story of the recent Charity Ball Fundraiser, which took place on 18th November 2023.

This extraordinary evening was dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), our chosen charity of the year. Three of our employees, Angela Anderson, Olivia Eyre and Melissa Calvert organised the sell out event with the unwavering support of their community, we are delighted to announce that they have raised over £14,000, making a significant contribution towards fighting this devastating disease.

A Night to Remember

The Charity Ball was a night of glitz and glamour. Held at The Garden Rooms, Tennants, Leyburn, the event brought together individuals from all over the local area help to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Highlights of the Evening

Live Entertainment: Our guests enjoyed a good old boogie to music delivered by DJ Wilko and Singing Waiters which created an infectious atmosphere.

Auction and Raffles: There was added fundraising throughout the night in the form of a silent auction and a raffle which had a variety of over 100 prizes donated kindly by members of the local community.

Run-down of the Night: Guests were welcomed with a glass of prosecco which was also kindly sponsored by a local business. The night started with a few games before sitting down in the ballroom for a delicious 3 course meal, which was then followed by a fun night of dancing, cocktails and entertainment.

Our Journey with MNDA:

Our journey with the Motor Neurone Disease Association began when we selected them as our Charity of the Year. MND is a devastating condition that affects thousands of lives, and MNDA is at the forefront of research, support, and advocacy. With each fundraising event, we have witnessed the power of our community coming together to support this vital cause.

The Impact of Our Fundraising:

The remarkable success of the Charity Ball is a testament to the generosity and dedication of our local clients, friends and community. The funds raised, totalling over £14,000, will be used to fund essential research, provide care and support to individuals and families affected by MND, and raise awareness about this life-altering disease. Every penny raised takes us one step closer to a world without MND.

Expressing Our Gratitude:

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the sponsors, donors, and all those who attended the Charity Ball. Your support has made a profound impact on the mission to combat MND.

In the spirit of unity and compassion, the Charity Ball Fundraiser for the Motor Neurone Disease Association was a shining example of what can be achieved when a community comes together for a noble cause. The funds raised will undoubtedly make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families facing the challenges of MND.
